ThirdLaunch Specialty: My focus is on working with individuals in transition and individuals who want to re-evaluate their current priorities and seek a deeper awareness of self, who want to explore their own strengths, areas of potential growth, and passions, and to help them move in a new, engaging and meaningful direction. |
Coaching Statement: Our 50’s and 60’s provide us a unique and exciting opportunity to look at and reconsider patterns of behavior that no longer serve us well, to explore honestly our priorities and what is important to us at this time in our lives, and to create a plan for moving in that direction. Coaching is a powerful means for advancing that exploration, for gaining clarity about where we have been, who we have been, and how we want to be, and for implementing positive changes in our lives. |
Coaching Experience: For the past five years, I have been coaching individuals on a variety of issues, principally involving significant life transitions, a deeper awareness of self, moving out of old patterns and habits, and becoming clearer about, and pursuing, new goals and objectives. I have also facilitated Hudson Institute’s LifeLaunch program for the past five years, and have been on HI’s leadership team during this period. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: In five years, I have gone from a career that reflected success on the attractive terms offered by others to a life on my terms as a coach, consultant, speaker, and writer. It is no surprise that I am drawn to coaching Third Launch participants in uncovering and achieving some long neglected dreams! |
Coaching Statement: Someday is here. We may have done the right thing at the right time for decades but what is the right thing now? As a coach, my goal is to play a critical role in answering that question, helping you to inventory your resources -- including your dreams, to learn to let go, to avoid defaulting to the comfortable old ways, to experiment, to commit to live the life you deserve, to find and widen the places where life feels good and light, to achieve some measure of peace and of greatness on your own terms! |
Coaching Experience: As my first career drew to a close, I found myself increasingly acting as a coach to my team and to valued colleagues across the company. In the wake of a dramatic merger, I retired and continued that journey obtaining my Hudson coaching certification. I now actively coach others who are seeking or facing dramatic changes in their lives. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds and are at varying stages in their journeys of reinvention. They often include lawyers, financial services professionals, and other coaches. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: I am deep into the space of life we are calling Third Launch. Being a little ahead of the boomer, I thought a lot about what this part of life would bring. I knew it was up to me to create a life of meaning - to use all my talents, to learn new things and to be of use to the world. I’ve never wasted my time, and I didn’t want to do it now as I came into my 60’s. I specialize in helping all people pinpoint their true values, discover interests they have or didn’t know they had, and help them marry their values and passions with their strengths to find a life of purpose and fulfillment. I have a special interest in mature people who want to use this time to live a life of authenticity, to discover new things about themselves and then to enjoy life in this new age of sage. |
Coaching Statement: I help people go from being stuck to being unstuck. My expertise is coaching people who are experiencing change or approaching transition and wish for a new energy in their lives. I like helping people uncover what they really like to do in life, and help them use their true values to create a life of enjoyment, fulfillment and meaning. |
Coaching Experience: I’ve worked very successfully in the news and entertainment industry for the past thirty years. Whichever position I held, whether it was heading up a production company, running newsrooms, creating programming, or being the talent, at the center of my approach in working with people was a coaching model. Now I’ve taken my natural propensity and turned it into a full time practice of individual coaching and seminars. I am certified by Hudson Institute as a personal and professional coach and trained in the authentic happiness model taught by Martin Seligman PhD of the University of Pennsylvania. |

Coaching Statement: When coaching leaders in large and small organizations and frequently working with employees of the U.S. Department of State, I coach clients as they solve work, career, and personal issues. These clients often report increased clarity, energy, and commitment to growth. Having lived abroad and changed careers, I particularly enjoy problem-solving with people in transition. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: In Third Launch, we are ready to embark upon our exciting future. In coaching, I help individuals learn to look at the choices available to them and match them with their natural desires to continue learning, leave a legagcy, travel or start a new career. The choices are literally endless, so a starting point is putting everything out on the table to explore and guide the client through the discovery process. |
Coaching Statement: Driving Lessons: You may know where you want to go and it is my job to help you get there. Not by driving the car but next to you and asking appropriate questions to guide you to your destination. The journey will be a time of re-discovering who you are and re-evaluating your priorities. This is happy driver time! |
Coaching Experience: I have been engaged in career and executive coaching for the last eight years. During that time, the question that I asked most frequently centered around retirement. This is where you are now and where do you see yourself in five years? We carefully plan our life: school, career, friends but neglect to consider what will keep us healthy and mentally agile in the Third Age. |

Coaching Experience: I have been coaching since 2000, the year I graduated from the Hudson Institute coaching program. My clientele encompasses individuals, both nationally and internationally, who don’t necessarily want to keep doing what they’ve been doing but they are not ready to hang up their spurs. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: The ThirdLaunch program is a wonderful opportunity to be proactive for you. I have been a life-long learner and started the ongoing process of “pro-tirement” many years ago. I understand the challenges involved in reinventing yourself or shifting gears from the achievement mode to living on purpose with passion. I have a strong commitment to “authentic coaching work” that which addresses individual challenges, but which also potentially changes lives by supporting individuals to evolve as a person and perform at higher levels in life. This is my purpose and my passion. I have some “gray around the ears”, and “lumps on my head” from many years of living and being. |
Coaching Statement: I began Coaching work in 1998 after a successful CEO/Executive Leadership in Healthcare with the express purpose of making a difference with people and their lives. I help people understand who they are and how to manage who they are not; and, possess a good understanding of what can derail people in their pursuit of life goals. I have been successfully supporting people as they experience transformation and transition for many years. |
Coaching Experience: I have been engaged in Executive and Life Coaching since 1998. I have extensive experience with managing resistance, accessing the right resources, and helping people to stay on track with their personal goals. Execution and follow through are key challenges as you fulfill your plan for new possibilities in life. I am certified by the Hudson Institute and have received the Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation. I have a Masters Degree in Hospital and Healthcare Administration and a Batchelor’s Degree in Finance. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: My qualifications as a ThirdLaunch coach are that I know the territory well and speak the language. My interest in adult development led me to become a coach late in my life and my work with elders continues to energize and inspire me. I am particularly interested in working with adults seeking to make mid-course or late-course corrections in their lives. |
Coaching Statement: I see myself as a personal navigator who helps others find their paths and live the life of their dreams. I work with people to awaken their inner resources to create the life they want at the age they are. |
Coaching Experience: For the past eight years I have had a private coaching practice helping experienced professionals (physicians, lawyers, educators, psychotherapists, and clergy) find inner balance and lead fulfilling lives. I became a coach after many years of experience as a teacher and a psychotherapist. I am an external mentor coach for Hudson Institute coaches in training, and have written a book about coaching: Depth Coaching: Discovering Archetypes for Empowerment, Growth, and Balance. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: A valued friend advised me not to retire to get away from it all; retire to move toward it all. You have the opportunity to use parts of your brain, body and talents; which may have previously been untapped. At Third Launch you envision and create plans for the life which will propel you forward. As a coach, who has experienced that process, I can support you through this remarkable transition. |
Coaching Statement: Rational thinking for an often irrational world is the beauty of having a coach. A coach can remain objective, while having deep empathy for your hopes, fears, dreams and frustrations. To be enable a client to take positive steps towards their dreams, while letting go of their fears and frustrations is the talent I bring to the coaching. |
Coaching Experience: For several decades my career involved developing new drug products; while developing new scientists into leaders who think and feel. In choosing to coach as part of my own "third launch"; I draw on this right brain/left brain mentoring experience. My specialty is helping individuals in transition, whether change is of their choosing or imposed on them. I assist my clients in creating a life that fulfills all of their "Core Human Values: personal mastery/achievement, play/creativity and compassion/contribution", as the Hudson model so eloquently puts it! Together we craft a development plan, with goals and target dates and I support them, as they refine and achieve their goals. Most are amazed at their results. |

ThirdLaunch Specialty: My passion is working with people for whom the primary tasks of middle adulthood have been completed. Children have been raised. Relationships have stayed the course, dissolved, or are on the horizon. Career goals have been achieved, have been a disappointment or are being dreamed of. The question is, "What's Next?" |
Coaching Statement: Answering what's next can happen in a number of ways. I take pride in developed coaching engagements that meet individual needs and which focus on self discovery, building capacity, values clarification, envisioning the future and building an incremental plan. Coaching sessions take place in person or on the phone. Please visit my website: www.theodysseygroup.net or call me for a complimentary half hour coaching conversation. |
Coaching Experience: In addition to coaching certification from The Hudson Institute, my training has focused on working with adults, midlife and better. For the past 18 years I have provided strategic planning, leadership training and coaching services to businesses in the senior housing, social service and health care sectors. My coaching experience might be best summed up by a recent client: "Its easy to get lost and stuck when reaching a transition or turning point in your life, especially us baby boomers upon reaching middle age. I decided to consult with a professional, Barbara Waxman and the Odyssey Group. It made perfect sense to me to use a professional in this situation because, lets face it, these are pretty big questions. Something this personal not only warrants a professional but someone who is compassionate and caring enough to tackle the delicateness of the situation. Barbara helped me achieve clarity about where I've been, where I am now, and where I'm going, all in a extremely focused but caring and compassionate way. I highly reccomend consulting with Barbara and the Odyssey Group for anyone needing answers with what happens in the next chapter of their life." Robin Meisel, Coaching client |
