The Hudson Institute On The Move
April 3-5, 2008
Santa Barbara, CA The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara Advanced Coaching Seminar
Certified Hudson Institute Coaches were invited to join their colleagues at the Annual CHIC Conference in Santa Barbara for three days of learning, sharing, networking, and relaxing by the ocean! The learning conference also gave coaches a chance to review some important coaching principles and to strengthen the business side of coaching practices.
Keynote speakers included Donna Markova and Barry Johnson. Learning conversations in small groups were initiated the first day and were strengthened through structured activities. Over one hundred CHICoaches contributed and drew from the rich experience of members within our community as they shared best practices in a variety of coaching aspects.
Comments from participants who attended previous conferences:
"The Advanced Coach Seminar was inspiring, renewing and reenergizing. The reconnecting, new connections, and top notch speakers provided a fantastic learning opportunity."
"The value of my experience has far exceeded the investment. I would strongly recommend ACS! Thank you Hudson! You are truly as generous of heart as you are with you resources."
"Stimulating and fun! I came away with ideas and new skills to implement in my own work immediately. Pam's commitment to innovation and continued support of our development as coaches is what makes Hudson a true learning community."
"The most valuable conference I attend all year."
"Another great seminar! I really enjoyed the diversity of the speakers. Peter Koestenbaum is wonderful. I loved learning some of what he had to offer. I would have preferred a whole day with Greg Levoy. I have worked with Angeles Arrien before and find her work to be timeless. I especially enjoyed the way she connected her work to our coaching practices."
"It was really constructive - a huge variety of different events and speakers. A wonderful flow of dialogue between the speakers and the attendees. It flowed wonderfully - I thoroughly enjoyed it!!"
"Attending is an important professional development and personal "battery recharger" for me."
"The quality of the people who are joining the HI community continues to impress me as a coach and professional. HI is unique in its offer of a safe environment to learn amongst individuals who value diversity and learning as a "way of being". If you want encouragement for your dreams and the ability to contribute to others and have others contribute to you... attend the Advanced Coaching Seminar."
"The ACS was a great opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, and to remember why I chose to become a CHICoach in the first place."
"Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire conference. All three speakers were awesome. I learned so much from each one that I will use with myself and my clients."
"I don't know what the "magic" was, but I felt much more "connected" to the community by the time I left. Thanks for a great seminar!"
"I came away from the ACS with a new sense of personal growth and commitment to the future."
"There are a lot of choices for annual seminars. I think the HI offering is head and shoulders above the others... strong outside presenters, important information about HI and the survey, strong CHIC presentations and time to connect together. I had a great time."
"One of the great gatherings on planet Earth. The quality of listening at the Advanced Coaching Seminar is second to none. I cross eight time zones and go back again and again to connect with people who listen and to let my hair down."
"I hugely enjoyed the event. There was no sense of hurriedness or trying to cram in too much. Overall design was excellent -- a great mix of body, mind and spirit."
"For me, the Annual HI Advanced Coach Seminar is a chance to reconnect with a great community of friends and colleagues, to meet new coaches and share experiences and learning, and most of all, to recharge my batteries as a coach and as a human being!"
"The Advanced Coaching Seminar was a fabulous look forward of the power of the HI community in furthering my development. The interaction with coaches from all over the world, the deeply though provoking speakers, and the opportunity to get more in touch with how we show up in the world was a fabulous experience for those just graduating from the program. I recommend it to all "newbies" to get a taste of how the best is yet to come!"
